Tyler Nez Earns OSHA 10 Certification

2014 Sep 3

Northland Pioneer College student Tyler Nez from Holbrook, received an Occupational Health and Safety Administration [OSHA] 10-hour card. The card certifies that the student is trained in the recognition and avoidance of potential health hazards in the workplace and can promote safe practices and procedures. "Having an OSHA card can be very valuable for an employer looking to hire," says Ken Wilk, professor and program chair in Construction Technology. "While it's not necessary with all organizations, more and more companies are making the training required. There's a need for safety training everywhere." OSHA training classes usually span three to four days and are open to NPC students, area employers, employees and interested members of the public.

For additional information about OSHA or other upcoming construction classes, contact instructor Ken Wilk at (800) 266-7845, ext. 7456.
