Cody Mettie helps with award-winning float

2016 Dec 6

Northland Pioneer College's entry in the 2016 City of Show Low Christmas Lights Parade won the Judges' Choice - First Place Award. Designed and built by Automotive and Welding students the float featured welders, grinders and a sleigh propelled by a engine shooting flames through candy-caned striped exhaust pipes.

"Almost every classmember (65 in all) in the two programs was involved in the design, build out, walked beside/on or helped tear down the float," said NPC welding instructor Randall Hoskins.

Cody Mettie, of Lakeside, helped with the float project. Mettie is studying Automotive Technology with plans to obtain an AAS .
