12 NPC Students Win Gold Medals in SkillsUSA State Competition

Eighteen Northland Pioneer College students in career and technical education fields won medals during the SkillsUSA Arizona state competition April 3-4 in Phoenix. Twelve students won gold medals and will advance to the national championship competition in Louisville, Ky., June 25-29.

Shyanne Plumb, of Show Low, AZ, took second in Job Demo Open.

Peggy Belknap, NPC dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE), said, "To win 21 total medals, including 12 gold, seven silvers and two bronze, supports my position that NPC has highly qualified faculty who instruct outstanding and relevant CTE programs."
